Susan Byrne (World Languages and Cultures) has authored a chapter titled "Ambiguity" in the collected volume Research Handbook on Law and Literature, edited by Cardozo Law School's Peter Goodrich, and published by the UK's Edward Elgar Press. In her chapter, Byrne offers a study of Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes' stylizing of ambiguity related to juridical hypothetical into his creative prose as a challenge to legal absolutes.
